A Perfect Recipe to Customer Loyalty

All businesses, big and small, aspire to have a loyal customer base. Any business that has earned customer loyalty will never fail. But the question is how you earn customer loyalty. It is not something that you can buy. It has to be earned.

Promotional activities and free gifts would increase your footfall — but it is temporary. As soon as the promotion is withdrawn, the customer loyalty shifts.

What is Customer Loyalty? Customer loyalty is a customer's inclination towards a particular brand or business over all other brands or businesses. When you buy all your groceries from that one store, despite having many available choices — that is customer loyalty.

1. Be Responsive Instead of waiting for your customer to explain their needs, understand them yourself. Listen intently, observe everything, analyse their buying behaviour. Don't just provide a product — provide solutions to their needs. Be proactive, not reactive.

2. A Single Touch Point People want their buying experience to be seamless and smooth. Give your customers a single point of contact to solve all their queries. Make some qualified and trained people responsible for all customer related issues.

3. Constant Improvement Attaining customer loyalty is not a single day act — it is a lifelong process. To surpass customer expectations, keep on improving your products, services, systems, and processes. Provide constant training and development to your team.

4. Take Feedbacks Actively Ask for honest feedback — not just ratings, but complete opinions. Ask what they like, where you should improve, what their expectations are. Most importantly — implement the feedback you receive.

5. Go Out of Your Way To retain your customers, create a comfortable environment. Let them know you care. Build long-lasting relations. A Ritz Carlton hotel in Bali flew special food from another country for a guest's son who had allergies. What they earned was priceless — that family's lifetime loyalty.
